New clinic or long-established? Reading the dates
The clinics in our register were founded anywhere from the 1990s to 2025. The year matters less than what is behind it.
The founding year on HealthTürkiye is the year the register gives for the facility, which can be the year of its current legal entity rather than the start of the team’s practice. A long-established clinic has a longer record you can check; a newer one may have an experienced team under a new name. For a newer clinic, ask about the dentists’ experience, check reviews over time and read the guarantee carefully.
Each entry on the Ministry of Health’s list shows a year founded. In our register they run from 1993 (Dental Estetik Center in Ankara) and 1994 (Perla Dental Clinics in Antalya) to 2025. Our own clinic’s entry says 2022. It is tempting to treat the year as a trust score. It works better as a prompt for questions.
What the year really means
The year is the one the register gives for the facility. It can change when:
- A clinic moves to a new address and is registered again.
- The business changes its legal company, owners or partners.
- A group opens a new branch, which gets its own entry and year.
So a clinic with a 2025 entry may have a team that has worked together for years, and a clinic with a 1995 entry may have none of its original dentists.
What an older entry gives you
- A longer record to check. Years of reviews, a website history, more patients who can tell you about follow-up care.
- Evidence it handles problems. A clinic that has lasted decades has usually had to deal with failures and repairs.
What a newer entry might mean
- An experienced team in a new or renamed clinic.
- A group expanding into a new city.
- Or a genuinely new business, with no track record yet.
Two examples from our register: International Plus in Istanbul has a 2025 entry and more than 6,000 Google reviews; Esnan Dental Clinics has a 2024 entry and describes a team of more than 80 dental professionals on its website. The entry year tells you little about either on its own.
Questions to ask a newer clinic
- How long have the dentists who will treat me been practising, and where before?
- Has the clinic traded under another name or at another address?
- If the clinic closed or changed owner, who would honour my guarantee? See what happens if a clinic closes.
- Can I see reviews from more than a year ago?
Questions to ask an older clinic
- Is the dentist in your photos still here, and will they treat me?
- Which branch will I be treated in, and when did that branch open?
How we use the year
We show the founding year on every entry and in the comparison table, but it is not one of our six scored checks. We think it would punish good new clinics and reward old ones for age alone. Use it as context.
Common questions
Is a clinic founded in 2024 or 2025 too new to trust?
Not necessarily. Several clinics in our register with recent founding years have large teams and thousands of reviews, because the business is older than the current entity. Look at the record behind the date.
What does a clinic founded in the 1990s tell me?
That it has survived a long time, which suggests stable patients. It does not tell you who works there now.
Where do I find the founding year?
On the clinic’s HealthTürkiye entry, and on each clinic page in our register.
