How we built this register
The method, as a story: what we did, in what order, where it got difficult and what we still have to do.
We downloaded the Ministry of Health’s HealthTürkiye list of 1,117 authorised private dental clinics, counted them by city, and chose clinics in six cities that market to international patients. For each, we recorded the register entry, then checked its website for named dentists, guarantee periods, implant brands and prices, and read Google review figures. Each clinic gets one point per check. Precious Dental, the publisher, is listed first as our top pick.
We are a clinic, not a research organisation, so we kept the method simple enough to explain on one page and to repeat. Here is how the register was put together in October 2026.
1. Start from the Ministry list
GOV.UK’s advice for Turkey names HealthTürkiye as where the Ministry of Health lists approved providers. We downloaded its list of private oral and dental health clinics: 1,117 of them, in 38 provinces. That gave us the count for each city that appears throughout the site, and a rule: if a clinic is not on this list, it is not in our register.
2. Choose where to start
We could not check 1,117 clinics at once. We chose six cities that UK patients ask us about: Istanbul, Antalya, İzmir, Muğla, Aydın and Ankara. In each, we started with clinics that market to international patients, usually larger or long-established ones with English-language websites. For Antalya, we started from the clinics already checked for our sister guide, bestdentistsinantalya.com.
3. Record the register entry
For each clinic: legal name, authorisation number, address, year founded, health professionals and staff. Each entry links to the Ministry’s page.
4. Check the website
We read each clinic’s English pages, and Turkish ones where we found them, looking for four things: dentists named, guarantee periods by treatment, implant brands and the clinic’s own prices. When we found one, we saved the link. When we did not, we left a dash. This was the slowest part: some websites are built in ways that hide text, and some publish little in English.
5. Read the review figures
We read Google ratings and counts through a data service on 22 October 2026. Its credit ran out partway through, so clinics in three provinces and one in Istanbul have no figures yet. We say so on each of their pages, and they do not get the review point until we read them.
6. Score and order
One point per check, six in total. Precious Dental first, as our top pick. Then most points, then most Google reviews. Treatment rankings add one more check. See how we rank.
7. Publish with sources and a way to correct
Every fact links to its source. Any clinic can send a correction. See the corrections policy.
What we would like to improve
- Complete the review figures for every clinic.
- Check more clinics in each city.
- Add Trustpilot figures where clinics have them.
- Re-check on a fixed three-month cycle and show changes.
Common questions
How long did it take?
The first build, for 23 clinics, took several days of checking. Each re-check is quicker.
Will you add more clinics?
Yes. Clinics can ask to be added, and we add more in each city as we check them.
Did any clinic see its entry before publication?
No. Clinics can ask for corrections after publication, with a public source.
